How to Reset Fire TV Remote [All Models]

Different Versions of Fire TV Remote

Reset the Basic Edition Fire TV Remote
This remote is the oldest version of the Amazon Fire TV.
#1. Tap and Hold down the Home button and press the Menu button three times continuously.
#2. Release the Home button and tap the Menu button nine times.

#3. Remove the Batteries from your Fire TV remote.
#4. Unplug the Fire TV stick and wait for at least 60 seconds.
#5. After a minute, reinsert the batteries or put the new batteries into your remote.
#6. Plug in the Firestick back.
#7. Once the Home screen appears on the Smart TV, tap and holds the Home button for 40 seconds.
#8. It will take 1 minute to complete the remote setup.
Reset the 1st Generation Fire TV Remote
1st Generation Fire TV Remote has Alexa voice recognition. However, this remote doesn’t offer the power button and volume up / down buttons.
#1. First, unplug your fire TV stick from the power cord and wait for a minute.
#2. Tap and hold down the Left button and Menu buttons simultaneously for 12 seconds.

#3. Release the buttons and wait for at least five seconds.
#4. Detach the Batteries out from your Fire TV remote.
#5. After a minute, Reinsert the Batteries or put the new batteries into your remote.
#6. Plug in the Firestick back.
#7. Press the Home button on the remote.
You can see your remote paired to your Smart TV. If it is not paired, then press the Home button for another 10 seconds or try repeating the process once again.
Reset the 2nd and 3rd Generation Fire TV Remote
2nd and 3rd Generation Fire TV Remote has several built-in features that include
- Alexa Voice Remote (with Volume and power buttons)
- Alexa Voice Remote Lite
- Fire TV Alexa Voice Remote
- Fire TV Smart TV Remote
- Fire TV Soundbar Remote
Resetting steps are the same for the latest version of the Fire TV Remote. But all these remotes may not work with the Fire TVs.
#1. Initially, unplug your Fire TV Stick or Fire Edition Smart TV from the power cord and wait for a minute.
#2. Tap and hold down the Left, Menu, and Back buttons simultaneously for 12 seconds.

#3. Liberate the buttons and wait for 5 seconds.
#4. Detach the Batteries out from the remote.
#5. Plug the Fire TV back into the power cord, and wait until it turns ON.
#6. Put the batteries back into the remote.
#7. Press the Home button on the remote.
The LED indicator on your remote will blink a blue flashlight when it is successfully paired. If you don’t see the blue light, press the Home button for 10 seconds.
