How to Reset Samsung TV Remote [Simple Methods]
The Samsung TV remote that comes with the TV may not work for various reasons, including wear and tear. Some of the reasons can be physical damage, slight pairing problems, poor battery, or issues with the remote infrared sensor or TV. It is also possible for the remote to stop working if the control pad is defective. Even if you replace the old batteries with newer ones, they may not work at some point. That is when you might finally try to reset the Samsung TV remote.
Check if the Remote is Defective
1. Open the Camera app on your Android or iPhone device.
2. You must check whether the IR signal is properly emitting from the remote to the TV.
3. View the remote head through the camera and press any button on the remote.

4. Upon pressing it, check whether you can see the light flashing through the phone camera.
Note: If the IR light does not appear, you must replace the batteries before resetting the remote.
Power Reset the Remote
1. First, you must remove the batteries from the compartment.
2. Hold the Power button for 10 seconds while removing the batteries. This is done to drain the residual charge completely from the remote.
3. After that, insert the new batteries into the remote compartment.

4. Turn on the Samsung smart TV and use the remote functions to control the TV.
Pair the Smart Remote
If you have a Samsung Smart Remote, you must pair the remote with the TV whenever you use it. The Samsung TV remote will not work if you forget to pair it. However, you can simply press and hold the Return and Play/Pause buttons simultaneously for about 3 seconds. You will see the notification as connected if the remote pairing is successful.

Check your Smart TV Remote
1. From your smartphone, turn on Bluetooth.
2. Check whether your TV is listed in the available Bluetooth devices.
3. Insert the new batteries into the remote and check again.
If the TV is not displayed in the Bluetooth devices list, then the problem is within the Samsung TV, not the remote. So, you have to reset your Samsung TV to fix the issue.
