Are you tired of stacking up multiple remotes for your different devices? Then you can easily use the GE Universal Remote to control your devices like TV, DVD Player, Gaming Systems, Blu-ray, VCR, Stereo systems, and many others. If you want to program your GE Universal Remote to the devices, you will need the device-specific GE Universal Remote Codes. Similar to Insignia TV universal remote, we can manually type the remote code or by scanning the codes automatically without entering the code. Next, check the batteries on your remote and turn on the devices you want to program.

How to Program GE Universal Remote Using Remote Codes
Remove the back cover of your remote and remove the batteries. Find your remote’s Code List and Version number stamped on the white sticker inside the battery compartment. See whether the number has V1-V5 mentioned. These are older models. If you find CL3, CL4 or CL5, they are newer models. Close the battery compartment after reinserting the batteries.
1. Find the programming codes for your GE Universal Remote based on its Code List Version. Many devices have more than one in such cases; you want to try all the codes until you find the right one.
2. Switch on the device you want to program your GE Universal Remote.
3. Keep pressing the Setup button and release it once you see the red light.
4. Now press the button that indicates your device. In the case of TV, select the TV button. Similarly, select DVD player for DVD and so on.
5. Enter the device code using the remote. If you find several codes enlisted for your device, then prefer the first one. After entering, the red light will turn off.
6. Direct your remote towards the device you are programming and press the Power button. Your device will turn off; the entered code is probably wrong if it does not. Try the next code from the list and repeat the process.

7. If none of the code works, then you can try the second method, in which you can find the code by searching automatically. You can follow this method for both the older and newer remote models.
Note: If you have an Insignia TV, you can program a GE universal remote to it using Insignia TV universal remote codes.
How to Program GE Universal Remote Auto-Search Method
1. Turn on the device you want to program the remote with.
2. Pressing and holding down the Setup/Code Search button will turn on the red light. Once it does, release the button.
3. Now, press your device button (TV, DVD Player, and so on)
4. Place your remote in contact with the device and press the Power button. In the case of a DVD Player, you should press the Play button (also for V1, V2, V3, V4, and V5 remotes). Once the search begins, the red light will blink with a gap of two seconds, indicating the scanning through codes. If you do not see the light flash, press the Power/Play button with a gap of seconds to manually scan for the code.
5. To lock in the code, you must quickly press the numeral 1 key right when your device turns off or starts to play. In case of manually scanning, you should press Enter, Mute, or Save button.
6. Finally, check the controls on your remote on the device.
GE Universal Remote Codes for Popular Brands
As we know, the Universal remote can be paired to any device of different brands. All we need to do is to program the remote to the device using the preset remote codes. Of course, every device would have multiple codes, so make sure to try out the available code to get the one that works for your device.
