If the Motorola TV remote is not working, you can rely on the following workarounds to fix the issue.
Change the Batteries
The Motorola TV remote won’t respond to button presses if it doesn’t have adequate power to send signals to the device. This may be due to discharged batteries or if the batteries are not inserted properly. Therefore, you need to eject the old batteries from the battery compartment and replace them with newer ones.
Clear the Obstructions
In some cases, furniture items or showpieces placed in front of your TV unit may block the remote’s infrared signals. As a consequence, you won’t be able to use the remote functions until you relocate the obstructing stuff. Also, remember that the optimum range for operating the infrared-based Motorola TV remote is less than 30 feet.
Release Stuck Buttons
If you drop the remote down, the remote buttons may get stuck as a result the buttons will not work even if you press them multiple times. In some cases, the remote button may be stuck when it gets more dirt inside. So, use the cotton cloth dipped in 99% isopropyl alcohol to clean the remote buttons. Also, gently press all buttons one by one to release the stuck buttons.
Change Mode Key
Some Motorola TV remotes will have dedicated mode buttons for TV, STB, and AUX. The LED light on the keys will indicate the mode that you are currently using. So, if the remote is unresponsive to the commands, check whether the remote is in TV mode or not. Also, ensure that the mode button is not jammed.
Check the IR Emitter
If you are using an IR remote, you can check if the IR emitter has an issue or not. Open the Camera app on your mobile phone. Point the remote’s IR emitter head towards the camera. Press all the remote buttons to check whether you can see the blinking light. If you can see a blinking light, there is no issue with the remote. Otherwise, you should repair the remote or buy a replacement remote.
